craig mabbit anyone?
You might know him because he fronted emo screamo band Blessthefall, but then he ditched them to go and front Escape The Fate (coincidentally when they became awful) when their former singer Ronnie Radke was arrested. Somewhere along the lines he also fronted this band for a while…
The Word Alive, pictured above with new singer Tyler Smith (4th one in). Fans of bands like Dance Gavin Dance and Chiodos should like these, as they have the same experimental flare along with the screaming and powerful high pitched vocals.
Listen to: Battle Royale, Are You On Drugs.

I saw this band supporting Enter Shikari and I have no idea why but I thought they’d be a bit ordinary, maybe an indie pop rock band a bit like Tonight Is Goodbye. Well they really weren’t like these, except for the same kind of deep distinctive voice the singer possesses. They do a bit of everything; harmonising, screaming, metal breakdowns, catchy chorusses and gang vocals guaranteed to get any crowd whipped up. They even incorporate some rap sometimes, and I don’t think you would have heard a band like this before. Oh and not forgetting to mention their immense energy on stage.
Listen to: Thug Workout, Danny Boy.

I think this band have split up but if you haven’t heard I still really recommend them. I don’t know what it is about them, but from my first listen to ‘Beavers Build Great Coffins’ I was just hooked. I think it’s how the singers vocals work perfectly with the harmonising and shouting demands from the rest of the band. They have a slightly amateur sound but I like how they sound unpolished and they don’t seem to be trying too hard just to get plays. I don’t even know how to describe their sound so just listen for yourself, but it’s unbeliavably good and it’s sad to see another great band go.
Listen to: Beavers Build Great Coffins, Half Bengal Tiger.
Also, if anyone is a fan of the clothing line Glamour Kills (but hopefully not as obsessed as I’m getting), you might be aware about their theme song contest. The winning song, recorded by The Bay State was definitely a worthy winner. ‘Hey Hey Glamour Kills’ is annoyingly catchy and the lyrics are sickly scene but I really don’t think you can help but love it. Click here to hear the song!

This is The Media Says and they’re giving away their calm electro pop song Dance With Me. It’s definitely a grower and for those of you who like Metro Station. Click here to get it.
That’s it for now, oh I’m starting to love Tumblr :)
